A  12 year industry veteran with the last 5+ years focused on designing and delivering successful video games for PC, XBOX, XBOX Live, Nintendo Wii & DS, and mobile platforms including free to play (F2P) models.   • Game Design

    Re-Designed game in production upon hire and produced game that hits 800+ downloads across platforms on any given day and holds 4.5 star rating in Apple App Store and Google Play. Developed numerous game features for Polar Bowler such as the in-game economy and e-commerce concep, the scoring bonuses & thresholds, and specialized “tube” designs. Wrote all customer facing in-game text for things like tube descriptions, loading screens, hint screens, and legal text as well as the App Store sell text.

 

  • Social Media Marketing and Brand Management                                                                                                                                       Developed, managed, and wrote all social media efforts for “PB” character and “Polar Bowler” franchise as well as WildTangent  Studios “insider” blog.  Worked with art lead to help establish logos for Polar Bowler, WildTangent Studios, and Polar Bowler:  1st Frame. Since taking over social media efforts, page “likes” have gone up by 500 in two months and the two most popular posts  have reached over 5,000 people organically.   

 

  • Product Management

    Evaluated current state of affairs in studio upon hire and re-directed production efforts to fulfill studio goal of shipping title by year’s end. Made difficult decision to release an outsourced partner and bring a title in-studio in a cost saving and quality conscience effort to ship the title “Penguins! Escape!”. 

 

  • Partner Management

    Established and developed relationship with outsourced partner Fairplay Labs that gave them ownership and pride in the product. Encouraged them to deliver concepts, ideas, and solutions to WildTangent in order to make them an integral part of them team.

  • Product Management

    Learned about social metrics and more such as DAU, MAU, ARPU and funnels. Strove to implement ideas that could affect those metrics for Bejeweled Blitz. Designed features with all 3 game clients in mind including driving feature development for the Facebook client. Developed and executed marketing plans with the stake-holding groups. Delegated responsibilities across teams and executed plans when crises arose in the “live” space. Wrote and approved our “insider” blog.

      Initially built a successful team by determining team needs and hand-picking 4 team members while overseeing the doubling of the               team size over the last 6 months. Convinced upper management that an all new, feature-driven, free to play Bejeweled Blitz iOS client         was essential to an increase in DAU, exposure, and revenue while increasing customer product satisfaction and retention.

  • Evaluated current needs of the game and the franchise and designed milestone schedules and feature sets based on those needs. Developed milestone schedules based on those needs and features and saw them through to completion in a timely manner. Features included the first in-app purchasing capability for a PopCap title which minimally doubled the daily revenue of the app. Designed and implemented the “Boost UI”, which has increased boost visibility and ease of use in all 3 game clients as well as increased coin purchases.

  • Interior, Exterior, Online Product Packaging and Marketing Materials

    Wrote game manuals for 2 Nintendo DS® products and 2 Xbox 360 products. Aided in designing exterior packaging for 4 DS titles and 2 Xbox 360 products. Wrote marketing copy and game description copy for XBLA titles as well as DS and Wii Ware.

  • Game Design

    Worked with outside partners to design all DS-specific features for Bookworm DS. Designed and drew new game-board, tiles, and in-game UI layouts for Bookworm DS. Designed and wrote achievements for Plants vs. Zombies and Feeding Frenzy 2 XBLA. Designed and wrote all help screens for Bejeweled 2 Wii Ware. Designed all control schemes for Bejeweled 2 Wii Ware.

  • Game Production

    Designed and produced both Bejeweled Twist ™ and Bookworm for DSiWare which combined for over 500,000 downloads. Worked with an outsourced company to produce Bejeweled 2 WiiWare. Designed and led team of volunteers over a week-long project to develop a “proof of concept” game vision (which became Plants vs. Zombies Pinball produced with Zen Studios).
